Aadhe Angrez!!!

Hey Dude...wasssuuppp!!!!!

Few shout-out-loud in mockery, few have actually been this way. I am targeting the people in between.

So more or less, I want to talk about a certain portion of Indian youth and a little bit about public sector officials (coz I am working with these people now a days) :P.

To start with, I will definitely mention some "Reality Shows" going on the TV. Not that I am judging the content, but definitely I will have some comments on the quality. Pretty much clear, these shows reflect our lack of capacity to even copy and reproduce. And by the time we realize, we think of nothing but a model in Two Piece to maintain TRP. Why am I mentioning? Cause thats what we are serving to the teens. Point is, too much of "West" being served, and too less capacity to draw the lines between acceptable and unacceptable.

Why is that so? Because this is not what we are. This is not we were taught when we were kids. May be some of our parents copied but still this culture isn't in our blood. And later in our life we realize that somewhere we were misguided. We are not Angrez and we didn't remain Indian either. We are floating between two states of mind. We want to go to a pub late night and dance with chicks.. but someone close to us like our sibling or other close relative does so, we definitely don't like it. This is hypocrisy.

I am not being cynical here. I would like to throw some light on the inherent cause of the situation. First, the electronic media raising slogans of "shining India" and polluting thought ( not all of them though..). Second, we don't respect our heritage, our culture. We call it conservative and accept the "angrezi" life style for us but deep down inside, we can't change what we ultimately are. And we are in dilemma.

I will also talk about the solutions too but now I want to tell a story. I was in the office of my Personnel Manager. There he asked his assistant to type a letter and when he came up with it, it was full of errors. Whose mistake? Not of the assistant. But again of the system. Why the letter was not in Hindi? It could have been much simpler for the one it was written for and the PM too.

Solution is simpler. Stop craving for the cool dude attitude and "wattaauppp" tone. Be what you are rather than looking like the "Gadha" of 3 idiots. Life will be less embarrassing for you and for the loved ones around you.

I so very much agree with these post...these 'in between ' people are simply intolerable and if not so, they provide fodder for some good entertainment....
these 'dudes' of today are so eager to flaunt that 'cool' or rather'kewl'(in their jargon) attitude that they end up being nowhere....
i remember one of my batchmates who had this habit of uttering this word 'dude' so frequently, that he ended up being called 'doodhwala'!!

I can agree no more...one quote from Macaulay's says "Indians cannot be taught with their mother tongue." It was starting point. If you want to read more http://www.languageinindia.com/april2003/macaulay.html
Our attitude to our culture is greatly influence by what we study (not specifically language). Many of us didn't appreciate our culture( from school, college), by the time we come to know about its importance it becomes too late to change because we now are addicted to it. Solutions are many and I am waiting for solutions blog.

I agree to u naresh .....bcoz it has always been the point that we don't appreciate whatever we have ..., whether it be our culture , language or heritage .......just bcoz of a few shortcomings ..we r d persons in someway who r responsible for deteriorating it more and more ...
if we start accepting ourselves in place of just copying like so called dudes, we'll simply rule our world in every field ....
i find people r AADHE ANGREZ ...bcoz ANGREZ had ruled our civilization at a particular time ! we still have that influence ...nd passing it to coming generations...instead of our values , culture and tradition ...
